October 2023 Partner Newsletter

Dearest Partner,

This month, we have had a tremendous series of God appointments. We have met pivotal leaders and ministered with wonderful voices who are committed to impacting the world. A highlight was Heather and I were guests together on Daystar TV. We enjoyed doing a program with Joni and Doug Weiss. Joni’s Table Talk was a wonderful experience as well. She is a great host, and so are the ladies around her. We talked about some interesting last days topics.

As we travel, I often write to you while flying or driving. Heather and I are sitting next to one another this time, and we have been discussing our partners today. We often do this and ask God to give us wisdom for the best ways we can bless and encourage our partners. We often pray for our partners and believe in God’s goodness to manifest in every partner’s life. Dear partner, thank you, we are able to accomplish the call of God because of you. Today, once again, we bless you and speak life over you.

Keep the Oil in Your Lamp! —Watch, I Say to You, Watch.

I want to share a very important topic with you—Keeping oil in your lamp. Ministry, the way God has called us to, is in a very specialized and unique space. We broadcast every weekday morning. Topics covered are current news, events, prophetic words, and teaching of the Scripture. Much of what we do LIVE is what I callProphetic Journalism, where we provide current events through the lens of Scripture. I always desire to bring people to Jesus through our broadcast and to identify and prepare viewers with information, but ultimately, to offer encouragement and life! What good is any broadcast that leaves you hopeless about what is coming? Faith is the lens we look through as we act as Watchmen Journalists.  Some of what we say on the broadcast is news and basic factual information regarding current events. Often, I go to the whiteboard while LIVE and try to write out what I sense happening. Scripture tells us we know in part and prophesy in part according to 1 Corinthians 13:9. This happens often on our daily broadcast, knowing in part and prophesying or sensing what the Spirit might be saying about any event. We always go to the Bible and stand on what it says. Here is another example regarding working with the Spirit by knowing in part and prophesying in part:

For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things.

—Acts 15:28

Here we see again that dynamic of “knowing and sensing” what the Holy Spirit says. The word  “it seemed good to us,” is the Greek word dokeō, and in this context, it carries what would be the equivalent of saying to personally determine, or to resolve. (Luke uses this same word in Luke 1:3 by saying, “It seemed good to me”).

World Broadcast Center

What I am about to tell you, many of you know and have heard me talk about on the LIVE broadcast. We are in the process of getting a headquarters and building for our studio broadcast! At the beginning of this year, I heard the Lord say to stay near America’s Mountain—Pikes Peak. This took place while standing at the summit of Pikes Peak. At that moment, it was clear that we were to begin looking for a property, which we started to do in the first part of this year.

The moment I began to consider a property, all I could think about was the current market and the potential negative trends regarding real estate. I also told the Lord we were already working on a project to get a small airplane, and I didn’t want to bother our partners with another project!

However, our team is bursting at the seams, as we have experienced exponential growth in the last twelve months! Since the beginning of this year, we have grown by one-third of what we did in the previous year, which translates to greater reach and the need for more staff, equipment, offices, and the overall cost and responsibility that comes along with it.

So, from the beginning of the year, we have been praying about a headquarters and studio space for the ministry. I prayed that the Lord would show us a building or lead us where we needed to house our ministry. Uniquely, I came under the conviction of the Lord with a heavy sense that necessary adjustments had to be made in our ministry and organizational structure. There was a strong sense that there needed to be a change in particular roles and responsibilities in our ministry.

One morning, I woke up after having a very clear prophetic dream involving the structure of our ministry. The Holy Spirit showed me precisely what must happen. So, we began a discovery process, internally critiqued where we were, and examined each role in our organization. That dream I had was confirmed by discovery and resulted in making some vital changes within our team’s roles and responsibilities. Some of this was difficult, yet necessary for the blessing of God to remain in our ministry. God never tells us things to hurt us, but the Spirit will guide us, even warn us. Many who do not obey these moments can suffer great difficulty or even worse. Thankfully, we obeyed and made the necessary adjustments! I learned a long time ago that if you do the difficult, God will do the impossible.

Now, here is the miraculous part. The following morning, we had clarity. So, as we often do, Heather and I joined hands to pray, only this time, the Holy Spirit prompted us to call in our new building by faith! We did and had the presence of God come over us in a mighty way! An unusual sense of power washed over us, making it clear that God was in that prayer!

It wasn’t but an hour following that moment when Stephanie Chandler, the wife of Jason Chandler, our executive travel director and head of partner relations, reached out to Heather and me, saying she had come across a property and sensed we should take a look at it.

We scheduled an appointment right away and went straight to the location. It had everything we needed! Over the next few months and into summer, we worked with the sellers and finally got the keys to the building. It needs a lot of updates, but it is exactly what we need at this moment for our ministry to operate at a higher level and for the vision of this studio.

There have been several supernatural steps that led us to secure the building! Here is where we are asking for your help. We have the building but need a minimum of $800k to retire the debt for the building to be PAID IN FULL, with an additional $200k of remodeling for staff office space and ideal broadcast and studio space. We have long desired to have our own meeting space, and this building provides the first step in this journey.

The building has two spaces that would allow us to go far beyond our daily LIVE broadcast. One studio we are building will be for the daily LIVE broadcast, TV production of routine programs, and focused content creation for you and our viewers. The larger of the two would serve as a tremendous “talk show studio” and audience-style environment. Eventually, we could create an intimate audience setting for special broadcasts, tapings, intensives, interactive teaching, workshops, panels, training, guest broadcasters, LIVE coverage of political events, the news, and so much more.

Oil in Your Lamp

What we are doing is what we do every day by prophetically looking at what seems right to the Holy Spirit and us. This serves as informative, and many watch us for their daily news! Additionally, it is a place where people get prophetic insight. However, our ultimate goal is to win the lost, make disciples through media, and encourage believers to keep oil in their lamps!

Keeping oil in your lamp and watching—is the topic I would like to speak with you about today. Let’s begin by looking at the Scripture regarding the ten virgins.

“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. 6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’10  And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. 11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

—Matthew 25:1-13

Oil and keeping watch are always NOW words. Constantly relevant for the believer. Keeping our lamps full of oil is something that should be taught much more than it is. This is the same regarding how we are to watch.  It is interesting to realize that by keeping oil in your lamp, even if you are distracted or not fully engaged in thinking about the return of the Lord, having oil in your lamp is vital.

What does it mean to have oil in our lamps? Simply put, it is to stay full of the Holy Spirit by intentionally keeping fellowship and relationship with Him as a constant in our life. Interestingly, the Word of God calls the ones who remain full of oil to be wise. Those who allow their oil to go out are foolish. A major point to consider is that both groups, foolish and wise, fell asleep. When the bridegroom arrived, they were all awakened, and the foolish asked the wise to share their oil.

Watching

We will talk about watching next, but what a realization it is that some of the virgins who fell asleep still had oil in their lamps! It is vital we stay full of the oil. Pray, read your Bible, and stay in a constant relationship with Jesus through the Holy Spirit.

Revelation 3:3 says,  “Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore, if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.”

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Take heed, watch, and pray; for you do not know when the time is. 34 It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!

—Mark 13:32-37

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.

—1 Corinthians 16:13

Therefore, let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

—1 Thessalonians 5:6

Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

—Hebrews 13:17

Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore, if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

—Revelation 3:3

The point is we need to be prepared, and the greatest way to do so is with your heart and mind surrendered to Him. It is an act of worship when we do such things. Watching is a position of the heart and mind. Your faith is stretching and anticipating the return of the Lord. One who is anticipating His return will have a life in line with someone who believes they will see His coming at any time. When considering all these things a good rule to live by is this… Plan as if the Lord will not return for 100 years, but live like He is returning in the next 24 hours. It is good to move forward with living, and planning, but keep that urgency and faith at the forefront of your mind and heart. This is a major part of keeping oil in the lamps—watching and anticipating

I want to also make a special mention of Israel, we realize that at the time I am writing this newsletter, Israel has declared war against their adversaries. We are commanded in Scripture to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. So we will do that straight out of the Word of God.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. 7 Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces.” 8 For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, “Peace be within you.”

—Psalm 122:6-8

A great thank you again to our partners. We have so much more to tell you about and will do so in the upcoming newsletter! We love you and will see you live each weekday morning!

For Jesus,

Joseph Z
