December 2023 Partner Newsletter
Dearest Partner,
I am so pleased to be writing you this month, as it has been a powerful year and time for both our ministry and personal family. We are celebrating the wedding of our daughter Ali. The man she has chosen to marry is a wonderful and godly young man. They have known each other and have been in communication for several years, and over the last season, their relationship became very serious. We are thrilled about welcoming Jeremy to our family.
Along with this monumental change in our family, we have been staying on task with the plans and purposes the Lord has appointed us for during this season. We are currently in the Holiday Season, and there is so much to reflect on each year as these times come around. For many, it is a joyful time filled with family and friends. It can be a very painful time for others based on many factors.
The world is a tough place. Life has many intense challenges. However, you have everything you need to rise above the issues and emotionally distressing circumstances you might face. Even if this coming year is as wild and dramatic as we believe it will be, there is great hope in the middle of it all. I’m reminded of how Joseph must have felt when he was thrown in a pit by his brothers and then in prison after being falsely accused. When he helped one of his fellow inmates out at the last minute, there was the promise of being recognized with the hope of freedom—only to be forgotten. Time passed, and Joseph had to hold his peace and stay in faith until the day he was called upon (see Genesis 37-41). In times of waiting and hoping for a good outcome, we either pass or fail based on how we navigate the uncertain circumstances. Great comfort rises for those who place their hope and trust in the Living God—not only in theory but via a prescribed way of operating—faith!
Faith is how we hold our peace, seeing a better tomorrow, a life to come that is filled with life and life more abundantly. Faith is the power Jesus gave you to bring the world’s system around you to its knees. Faith is how we live!
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” —Romans 1:17
Born again people have one way they are to live, by faith. Faith in the Son of God. Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
We sometimes joke as things in the world get increasingly difficult by humorously saying, “I guess it’s come to this! We are just going to have to believe God!” It’s only humorous because so many are not accustomed to believing God. Why should they? Many have had a life of relative ease compared to generations past. Yet, in today’s world, we must be alert and on guard, for the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion that is being allowed greater permission from a fallen culture. Our response as we see the pressures from all around is to have faith in God! Galatians 2:20 says that the life we live, we are to live by faith in the Son of God. The King James Version of Galatians 2:20 says uniquely, “The life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God.” How profound! Not only are we to have faith in Jesus Christ, but we are to operate with the same faith by which He operated! The same power that raised Christ Jesus from the dead dwells in you and will quicken your mortal body!
Consider that! Jesus’ faith resides in you, and you are to operate in His faith. Look at 1 John 4:17, which says, “As He is, so are we in this world.” Or think about John 14:12, which states, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to the Father.” This is all due to the same faith Jesus operated in functioning in you. Wow, I like to think about that and exercise this every opportunity I get.

Our daughter, who was just married, would not be alive today if it were not for operating in the faith of Jesus. There was a point when, as a baby still inside Heather’s womb, Ali stopped kicking. She was no longer moving at all. She didn’t move for nearly three days, and because of this, we went to the doctor. At an ultrasound appointment, the practitioner was quietly running the scanner over Heather’s belly, and I asked, “Do you ever see things you can’t talk about?” I said this to make small talk, and some of that question was due to my curiosity. The ultrasound tech kept his eyes on the screen he was looking at and did not break away to look at me. He said somberly, “Sometimes I see babies that are no longer alive, and it is heartbreaking, but I am not allowed to tell the parents.” I responded by saying that sounds challenging. What I didn’t understand until after the appointment was that he was letting us know our baby was no longer alive.
We were scheduled for a follow-up appointment and sent home. As we were going to bed that night, I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to pray over Heather’s stomach. So I put my hand on her very pregnant belly and commanded life into it under the leading of the Spirit. We went to bed not thinking much about it, and when we woke up, the baby’s foot was pushing against Heather’s stomach again. A very active baby woke her up!
We said, again, not knowing anything was seriously wrong, “Wow, she is active all of a sudden!” We decided to cancel the appointment for that day and go in a day or two later. The following day or two, we received a letter from our doctor scheduling us to have the baby removed as the baby was dead. We read this as the baby was kicking Heather’s stomach and thought surely they made a mistake! We contacted them to let them know we would not be needing the baby removed as she was alive and kicking.
It was a mighty testimony to the goodness of God! I often ponder that it must have been the grace of God that did not allow us to know that the baby was dead. Instead, that thought had not crossed our minds, and when I felt prompted to speak life into Heather’s womb, it was an easy miracle because there was no mental battle. I exercised the faith of the Son of God at that moment, and as a result, our daughter is alive and married today! Thank you, Jesus!
Whatever you are dealing with, I promise Jesus doesn’t fail, and His Word certainly does not fail. It is our job to become fully persuaded that what He promised He is able to perform. It is a war of the mind and the heart, and this is the fight and the issue. It is a territory war, and whoever has the most territory wins the battle.
If you overwhelm the territory of your mind and will by the Word of God through relentlessly reading and praying the Word, you will find your mind becomes renewed. Your faith will function more and more until whatever is resisting you will break! Sickness, death, poverty, or any other thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God will not stand.
As we face the coming days, it is vital to know God wants to provide for you even more than you want Him to do so. He desires to see you experience healing and a manifestation of life in every area of your life. But you are the gatekeeper, which allows that to happen. I encourage you to become fully persuaded, as Paul says in Romans 8:31-39, that nothing can separate you from the love of God. It is that place of being fully persuaded that allows all things to flow from the realm of God’s provision into your natural life.
Let’s take on this coming year with faith and confidence, knowing that He who began a good work is faithful to complete it in you (Philippians 1:6)!
Thank you, partners, for your continued support. Because of partners like you, we are reaching millions of people every week. We are so grateful and honored to have you as part of our Z family. We are praying for you as we are finishing this year. Heather and I pray for peace, strength, financial blessing, and breakthrough over you. We love you. God bless.
For Jesus,
Joseph Z
